Namtok Phlio National Park

Namtok Phlio National Park comprises an area of 134.5 square kilometer. The park covers areas in many districts of Chanthaburi province which are Mueang, Laemsing, Khlung and Makham districts. The area is rich with forest and filled with the dense of high mountains where are the headwater of strems and rivers. The feature of this fall is its beauty and water that flows all year round. It is well known to people living in nearby provinces. Its location is about 14 kilometers from Chanthaburi. The paved road makes the park very accessible to visitors and enabling the holiday - trip easy and relaxing.
The fall, itself, was one of the 14 forest parks that government at tempted to designate to be national park. Consequentially, it was declared to be as national park on May 2nd 1975, using the name "Khao Sa Bap National park." But on September 29th 1982, it was renamed to "Namtok Phlio "Following its Feature which the water falls down delicately and smoothly. [The word "Polio", of Thai, means the delicate movement like the way of ballet dance].
The area contains the range of mountain which rise from 300-624 meters high. The range are less steep in the south and plains can be seen around the slopes. The highest summit is on Map WA Krok mountain, which reaches 924 meters, creating many streams like Khlong Phlio, Khlong Narai, Khlong Troknong and Khlong makok. [Khlong means canal]. The park covers an area of about 135 sq.km.
Along Khon Chedi
Locating in the area of Phriew Waterfall, the Stupa and Chedi were built in the reign of King Rama 5th, Along Khon Chedi was built in 1876, and Pra Nang Ruar Lom Stupa was built in 1881 in commemoration of Sunanta Kumari Princes Pra Brom Rajadhevi. In the Pra Nang Ruar Lom Stupa also contains the Princes' relics because she used to visit the waterfall in 1874 and was very impressed by its beautifulness.
Khlong Nalai Waterfall
It is located at Khlong Narai sub - district which is about 6 Kilometers away from Chanthaburi province, the fall is 2 Kilometer from main road Chanthaburi - Trat. The site is suitable visitable visitors who love bushwalking and natural exploring.
Ma Kok Waterfall
The falls is on the same way to Trok Nong Waterfall and it is in the responsibility of the ranger station 4. It is a small fall consisting of 2 steps which is tiny and suitable for relaxation.
Phlio Waterfall
The word " Phlio " is said that it derived from chong Language, which is the local language and the meaning of this word is sand on beach. However, some believe that the name, Phlio, was derived from a tree that grow in sandy loam soil around this area. This tree is a vine species and it has small yellow - red fruit. Phil waterfall is a large falls. The water in this falls is perennial and clear. It is possible to see through the water to the ground which is deeper than 2 meters from the surface. In addition, many species of fish living in this water area creating the place pleasant and memorable.
Trok Nong Waterfall
It is located at Trok Nong sub - district in Khlung district. This takes 2 Kilometers from the ranger station 1 to reach the lowest level of the falls. The falls is perennial and the triat to the falls is rich with diversity of local flora whlist the area also provides habitats of wildlife.
