Lamklongngu National Park is fertile forest complex in the Tanaosri Mountain Range. The area has a high diversity of forest habitat and wildlife due to its close proximity to Thung Yai Naresuan Wildlife Sanctuary and Khao Laem and Khaoen Sri Nakarin National Parks. It is an excellent area for recreation and discovering nature. The large, towering limestone mountains are the watershed for Sri Nakarin Dam and cover an area of 600 km 2 . Most of the Park is amaze of mountains running on north-south axis. It is a part of the Tanaosri Mountain Range and important peak is Bo Ngam Mountain. Kliti waterfall is an 800 m. long limestone waterfall. It's highest level is 20m. high and some levels have pools up to 15m wide. Namtok Cave has an underground limestone waterfall, dropping down 17 levels. There are about 30 prehistoric paintings of humans and animals on the cave walls. Nang Kruan Waterfall originates from the Thong Pha Phum stream on Khao Pad Roi Mountain and the Cha Ey stream. These 2 streams join together to create the Yai Stream and this attractive waterfall. Nok Nang-an Cave is a large cave with the Klong Ngu stream running through it all year round Swallows live here and there are many decorative stalactites and stalagmites Sao Hin Cave has a huge, 62.5m high limestone pillar inside, which has gradually built up for millions of years. This cave can be entered only by boat. Vistors have to land at Pare Nam Jone Pier and go further on foot about 6 kilometers to the mouth of a river. Along the route, vistors can see Klong Ngu Stream flowing step by step, and wild animal drinking water in the stream sometimes. There are some groups of visitor, and expected to be more visitors come to visit in the future. Yai Cave water bubbles up from underground and seeps through the walls to create a stream which winds around the sandy floor of this cave for about 200m. |
