Travel news - Eco tourism and national parks in Thailand

Get it right...

Jae Son, about 75 kilometres north of downtown Lampang, is one of the North's most famous national parks. But does everybody know everything about this wonderful forest? I don't think so.

For me, the more I visit Jae Son, the more reasons I find to go back. To nature lovers, this place has so much more to offer to than just its famous hot springs. From the temperature of the spring water to the appearance of insects and birds, things are not the same at different times of the year. You just have to know what you want to experience and when to get there.

Also, from Jae Son National Park, there are two mountain roads that allow you to drive to Chiang Mai Province without the need to get back to Lampang town. I had already shown you one a couple of years ago in the Road Map series that was recently replaced by this column. Next week, we'll try the other shortcut together.

If you wish to contact Jae Son National Park, just call its visitors' centre at 089-851-3355.
